D'Orgeval's series of eighteen images records a century-old building, or rather its skeleton, where everything that makes a place liveable has been torn to pieces: walls, stairs, running water, radiators, parts of the floor and ceiling. All that remains are traces of what used to be, sealed or boarded-up windows, hastily repaired floors, hanging electric cables.
"My eye is attracted to this residue that speaks of the hypocrisy, oppressiveness and decadence of certain forms of self-proclaimed greatness... A flower can bloom in the rubbish. Here are my flowers."
